The Gate
The last couple years of my life have been black not just dark. Still climbing out of that hole they tried to bury me in (again) how many years ago? With their snide and snark. To most who look at me from the outside my life Is over not just a mess. I have lost everything. Literally this year found myself among the homeless.
The hardest loss I had to take was my faith my trust. In not just this world but in myself. In me. Through it all I find myself once again in the mirror starting to peak back pain in her I still see. This morning I let it be. I know I am that close to officially from this nightmare being set free. This morning I sit and wait for it to wash away. Back to the last couple of years of my life I finally have nothing more to say. With it I don’t argue. None of it I try to change. There is a shift in me and my world this morning. It always feels a little strange.
Yes. I am still alive. Through pitch black darkness I did not just survive. I have after all of these years finally made it to the gate. As it opens and calls me home I know all that I have lost will be returned. I know this is my fate. All that I have risked and sacrificed. Oh all that I have endured. For the light. It tells me I am safe now. There is no more need to darkness fight.
